On April 26-27, the ACAMIS (Association of China and Mongolia International Schools) Leaders’ Spring Summit was grandly held in the picturesque city of Hangzhou. Attendees included Dr. Sally Hewat, Vice President of the Technical Department and Academic Director of the AHSS Program; Mr. Vincent Zhao, Director of Strategic Development Department; Ms. Ashley Chen, Project Manager of the AHSS Program; and Ms. Helen Guo, Project Manager of the AHSS Program.
The Allied Health School Services Program aims to create a one-stop health platform for international schools, effectively realizing a tripartite intervention concept involving families, schools, and institutions. At the summit, representatives engaged in in-depth discussions with education experts, scholars, and international school leaders from around the world.
Founded in 1999, ACAMIS is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering exchange and development between international schools in China and Mongolia, and helping member schools achieve world-class educational standards. This year’s summit, attended by 450 participants, revolved around the theme “Building Opportunities: Future, Leaders, Spaces, and Life.” The goal was to explore how to seize opportunities, create excellent learning environments, and promote the holistic development of learners, including students, parents, staff, teachers, and leaders.
During the two-day summit, the Allied Health School Services Program successfully attracted significant attention, with a constant flow of visitors to the booth. The program, under the slogan “Join Our Village to Foster Children’s Well-being and Academic Success,” provides timely identification, assessment, and support for students with speech, language, learning, social, emotional, psychological, and behavioral difficulties. Additionally, it offers necessary workshops and empowerment training for parents and teachers. The program was implemented at Shekou International School in April and is planned to launch at Shenzhen Foreign Languages GBA Academy in August. Representatives from OST engaged with many participants on summit topics, sharing research and practical experience in children’s language development, and offering insights on creating excellent learning environments and promoting holistic student development.
