Our behavior therapists work with educators, parents, and other professionals to create personalized plans that address challenging behaviors and encourage positive actions. This helps students engage better in the classroom and in everyday life.
Many of our behaviors therapists are also trained shadow teachers who provide one-on-one support to help students engage in learning and navigate changes and complexities in the school environment. Our shadow teachers work closely with teachers to ensure students receive the help they need throughout the school day.
The AHSS network includes clinical psychologists who are all accredited register for Healthcare Professionals of Department of Health or members of The Division of Clinical Psychology of The Hong Kong Psychological Society.
Our clinical psychologists employ a variety of treatment methods (Systemic Family Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Existential Psychotherapy, Grief Therapy, Mindfulness-based Intervention) to support people of different ages with mental health needs or psychological distress, including depression, anxiety, personality disorders, schizophrenia, etc. Some young people may also need support to navigate and manage life changes and disruptions, including interpersonal relationships, family problems or adjusting to different life stages.
All AHSS educational psychologists are also Accredited Registers for Healthcare Professionals of Department of Health, or Hong Kong Full Members of the Division of Educational Psychology of Hong Kong Psychological Society, who provide assessments for students with learning and/or behavioral difficulties such as dyslexia, intellectual disability, autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, etc.
Our team of educational psychologists work closely with children, families, educators, and other allied health professionals to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to enhance the child’s learning and academic success.
